The client bought a probate property in Liverpool which they wanted to refurbish into a buy-to-let property. The client was concerned the property was subsiding but once we had stripped the property back we reported the internal cracks were caused by lateral movement. We needed to strap the walls and tie the floor joists back into the wall to stop further movement. The rear elevation needed knocking back to brick and retaining straps added with a chemical anchor. We were able to leave the kitchen as it was only a few years old.
